There’s no perfect recipe for a foster carer. Our foster carers all come from a wide range of backgrounds with different life experiences, to meet the diverse needs of the children we care for. What they all share is a commitment and passion for making a difference to children’s lives; supporting them through challenges and change and helping them to achieve their potential.


What do I need to become a foster carer?
- Be over 21 years old
- Have a spare bedroom
- The desire, time and ability to provide a child with a safe and loving home

What don’t I need to become a foster carer?
- You don’t have to be under a certain age
- You don’t need to be in a relationship
- You don’t need specific qualifications
- You don’t have to have birth children
- You don’t have to be a certain race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity or sexual orientation
